Before yet more Peak-Wanker coffee places move in and ruin everything...
This documentary project was shot in late 2016 through early 2017 to capture the banal beauty of the East End market - Petticoat Lane. The work seeks to record, for posterity, the contemporary character of the centuries old market before the ever-encroaching redevelopment of Aldgate and surrounds has an impact.
The work was envisaged and produced as a limited print run photobook, with funding for its printing and manufacture coming from backers on Kickstarter. The very kind wordsmith and London-encyclopedia, Matt Brown, provided the foreword.
The work was shot on 35mm film.
The photobook can be seen over at Kickstarter.
