Evan Skuthorpe is a London-based photographer shooting reportage and fine art. Currently studying a Bachelor of the Arts (Hons) degree in Photography, his interest lies in recording the banality of the urban environment and life within it.
Born in the Australian capital in the early 1980s, Evan Skuthorpe spent a sizeable portion of his childhood living around the world, namely in Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. This left a lasting impression and Evan spent his formative years in Australia, graduating High School on the Gold Coast in 1999. He went on to study three Diplomas simultaneously in Brisbane, in Software Development, Network Engineering and in Multimedia. After graduating in 2002, Evan set off on a one-way flight to London to seek his fame and fortune, where he now works in User Experience design and consultancy in London.
In the late-2000s, Evan started to develop his interest in photography and by the next decade, this became an all-consuming passion. Shooting seriously for around two years, recently Evan has found his niche somewhere between Fine Art and Reportage in which he works on medium and long-term projects. Evan decided to formalise his interest in photography by commencing his BA (Hons) Photography degree studies with the Interactive Design Institute at the University of Hertfordshire, in 2015. He will graduate in 2019.
Seeking to grow his profile as an artist photographer, Evan has begun to venture out, entering various prestigious photography awards and self-publishing his work. Evan photographs on digital and analogue cameras in 35mm, medium and large formats.
